01 / CONTAMINATED WATER REMEDIATION

Contaminated water remediation

Treatment of water contaminated by PFAS-containing firefighting foams after firefighting incidents, training exercises or equipment rinsing. Solutions for collected firewater, rinse water and contaminated groundwater at airports, firefighting training grounds and industrial sites.

Information for an initial assessment: Contamination type, total volume or continuous flow, PFAS content, solids, fuels, oils and any other hazardous substances.

Heavily contaminated water may require separation, multi-stage pretreatment or another initial process. We assess adsorption suitability by testing a sample of your water.

02 / TERTIARY TREATMENT

An additional selective stage after existing mechanical and biological treatment. The aim is to reduce residual target PFAS concentrations before water reuse or discharge.

Information for an initial assessment: Outlet quality, suspended solids, organic loading, PFAS profile and inflow variation in dry and wet weather.

The medium is not designed to remove sludge. Pilot testing assesses additional prefiltration needs and whether treating the entire flow is appropriate.

03 / WATER SUPPLY

Additional treatment at abstraction or before distribution. Dedicated filtration at the building inlet or point of use is also possible.

Information for an initial assessment: Individual PFAS profile, average and peak flow, target concentration, organic matter, pH and existing treatment.

We check component suitability for drinking water, hydraulics, hygiene procedures and monitoring. Dedicated filtration does not replace other necessary treatment processes.

Treatment of separate process waters and pretreated industrial wastewater. This enables treatment to focus on the part of the process where PFAS are actually present.

Information for an initial assessment: PFAS source, flow by shift, concentrations and variations, salts, pH, solvents, organic loading and oils.

We first check whether the medium suits the actual water composition. Removing particles, oils and interfering constituents may be essential.
